Why free means free

Splitting a bill should not come with a sales pitch. BillShare has no ads to show you and nothing to upsell.

  • No ads

No banners, no video ads and no advertising trackers. Your bills are not a marketing channel.

  • No premium tier

Every feature is available to everyone, including the ones other apps put behind a paywall: insights, CSV and PDF export, receipts.

  • We never take payments

BillShare only keeps the record of who owes whom. When you pay via UPI, your own UPI app opens and the money goes directly between you.

Everything you need to share costs

Every feature is included for everyone. Nothing is held back.

  • Split any way

Equally, by shares, by exact amounts or by percentage. Save split groups like “everyone except Raj” and reuse them.

  • Lists for every group

Trips, flatmates, dinners, office lunches. Invite with a link or QR code, or add people by name until they join.

  • Multi-currency

Record expenses in any currency on a trip abroad. Exchange rates are filled in for you.

  • Settle up, simply

See who owes whom at a glance and settle with the fewest possible transfers.

  • Payments hub

Send payment requests and friendly reminders. “Pay via UPI” opens your UPI app with the amount and UPI ID filled in.

  • Works offline

Add and edit expenses without a connection. Everything syncs when you are back online.

  • Receipts, insights, export

Attach receipt photos, see spending by category, member and over time, and export any list to CSV or PDF. All free.

  • Notifications, your language

Choose how much you hear per list. Available in English, हिन्दी, मराठी and Español, with light and dark themes.

How it works

Three steps from the first expense to everyone being square.

  1. Create a list

Start a list for a trip, a flat or a dinner, then share a join link or QR code. Friends without the app can be added by name.

  2. Add expenses

Record who paid and how to split it: equally, by shares, exact amounts or percentages, in any currency.

  3. Settle up

BillShare works out the fewest transfers. Pay via your own UPI app or in cash, and mark it settled.

Private by design

We collect only what the app needs to work. Read the full details in our privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Something else? Write to us at support@billshare.in.

Is BillShare really free?

Yes. There are no ads, no premium tier and no in-app purchases. Features that other bill-splitting apps charge for, such as insights and CSV/PDF export, are free for everyone.

Does BillShare handle my money?

No. BillShare never processes payments. It records who owes whom. “Pay via UPI” simply opens your own UPI app with the amount and the recipient’s UPI ID filled in; the payment happens entirely in that app.

Do my friends need to install the app?

No account is needed to be counted. Add people by name and they appear in splits and balances. If they join later through your link or QR code, they claim their spot with their history intact.

Where can I get it?

BillShare is an Android app and is coming soon to Google Play. There is no iPhone version at the moment.

Does it work without internet?

Yes. You can add and edit expenses offline; they sync automatically once you are back online.

How do I delete my account or get a copy of my data?

In the app, go to Account → Download my data for a full copy, or Account → Delete account to remove it. See how account deletion works in our privacy policy.
